Awards


Purpose

Awards are given for the best papers presented in the 21stInternational symposium on Alcohol Fuels.

Eligibility

All papers appeared in the 21stInternational symposium on Alcohol Fuels are eligible.

(1) S. C. Trindade Award

The winner will be normally awarded tothe best oral paper overall.

"The role of accessory enzymes in enhancing the effective hydrolysis of the cellulosic component of pretreated biomass"

(2) Award of ISAF Chairman

Two oral presentation award will be chosen based on the scientific merit presented at the congress withthe monetary award.

Elmer Alberto Ccopa Rivera (Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory/ Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials - CTBE/CNPEM)

"Techno-economic feasibility assessment and developing optimization strategies for implementing flex mills in Brazil"

Joonho Jeon (Hanyang University)

"Effects of Pilot Injection Strategies on Flame Temperature and Soot Distributions in an Optical CI Engine Fueled with Biodiesel and Conventional Diesel"

(3) Award of ISAF Organizing Committee Chairman

One poster presentation awards will be chosen based on the scientific merit presented at the congress withthe monetary award.

"Bioethanol production from rice straw pretreated with NaOH solution by using a novel pentose-fermenting fungus"

Inseong Choi (Bio-Energy Research Center)

"Exploring value added bioethanol production from soybean milk residue (Okara)"
Nomination of the best papers are recommended by the members of awards committee ofthe ISAF. The award committee chairs may transfer the results of selection to the ISAF national organizing chair if they so choose.

Exclusions to avoid conflict of interest:
1. Papers co-authored by the selection chair(s) are not eligible.
2. Papers co-authored by members of the selection committee are not eligible.
3. Papers in conflict with the selection committee chair(s) are not eligible.
